KITGUM – Officials at East Acholi Cooperative Union (EACU) have decried failure to reach the farmers as the second lock-down takes effect.
To them, they are being restricted in their movements to reach out to the farmers.
East Acholi Cooperative Union (EACU) headquarters is in Kitgum district. It brings together the farmers from Lamwo, Pader and Agago districts.
While speaking to theCooperator on Monday, Komakech Henry, Manager (EACU) said, they cannot do much at the moment, they are only relying on both district Commercial and Production Officers for advisory services.

” Of course, our farmers are already missing out on the services that we have been rendering to them something that is most likely to affect production,” he said.
Ocii Lazrus Alex, the Chairperson Acholi –Bur Cooperative Society, said there are critical areas where they need technical advice from the union officials.
“The positive part of it is that we had already received the planting materials at the farming site. Other services, we will have to reach out to the office of District Production and Commercial Officer for advice,” he said.
Jane Angom, a farmer said they can also seek redress from the chairperson board of different cooperatives in their areas of jurisdiction.
