KAMPALA, August 21, 2026 — Tanzania is set to host its inaugural Tanzania Investment Forum in London on 8 October, bringing together government officials, international investors, development finance institutions and business leaders to explore investment opportunities in the country.
The forum is being convened by the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania in the United Kingdom, with NMB Bank Plc as the strategic organising partner and Invest Africa as a partner.
Tanzanian Prime Minister Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba will attend the forum as Chief Guest and deliver the government’s keynote address.
The organisers said the forum will provide investors with an opportunity to engage directly with Tanzanian policymakers and business leaders, while gaining insight into the country’s investment priorities and opportunities for partnerships and capital deployment.
Tanzania’s economy has continued to grow, with annual GDP growth generally ranging between 5 and 7 per cent, supported by economic reforms, political stability and the country’s Vision 2050 development agenda.
The forum will examine Tanzania’s economic outlook, reform programme and investment framework, with discussions covering key sectors including critical minerals and mining, energy and renewable energy, infrastructure, transport and logistics, agribusiness and food processing, manufacturing, ICT and the digital economy, financial services and tourism.
The organisers also plan to hold business-to-business and business-to-government meetings aimed at connecting investors with Tanzanian companies, government representatives and other decision-makers.
Mbelwa Kairuki, Tanzania’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, said the forum comes at an important stage in the country’s economic transformation.
“Tanzania is entering an important phase of its economic transformation, with strong fundamentals, a clear long-term development vision and significant opportunities across sectors that are critical to both our national development and the global economy,” he said.
Kairuki said the forum would provide a platform to present Tanzania’s investment opportunities to international investors and strengthen partnerships aimed at generating long-term economic benefits.
Chantelé Carrington, chief executive officer of Invest Africa, said Tanzania had the resources and economic potential to play a greater role in Africa’s growth.
“The opportunity now is to connect the potential with the capital, expertise and partnerships required to deliver it,” she said.
Carrington said the forum would provide an avenue for investors to engage with policymakers and businesses and identify potential investment and partnership opportunities.
Ruth Zaipuna, managing director and chief executive officer of NMB Bank, said Tanzania offered opportunities for long-term investment in sectors including infrastructure, energy, agribusiness, manufacturing, critical minerals and the digital economy.
She said NMB Bank’s scale, financial capacity and local market knowledge positioned it to help connect international capital with investment opportunities in Tanzania.
The forum comes amid growing international interest in Tanzania’s role in Africa’s economic development, particularly in critical minerals, energy, infrastructure, food systems and industrialisation.
The organisers said the event would seek to strengthen links between Tanzania’s development priorities and international sources of capital and expertise.
The Tanzania Investment Forum 2026 will be held in London on October 8, 2026 and is convened by the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania in the United Kingdom in partnership with Invest Africa.
