IsDBI secures Singapore patent for smart market stabilisation system
The Smart Stabilisation System is a pioneering digital market infrastructure designed to stabilise asset markets by intelligently managing supply-demand gaps and mitigating excessive volatility

JEDDAH, August 11, 2026 — The Islamic Development Bank Institute [ IsDBI ] has secured a patent from the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore [IPOS] for its Smart Stabilisation System, a digital infrastructure designed to address supply and demand imbalances in asset markets.
The patent, granted on July 10, 2026 under Singapore Patent No. 10202250873B, covers an invention titled “A Computer Network Stabilization System and Method”. IsDBI filed the patent application on September 1, 2022.
The Smart Stabilisation System uses algorithms and simulation models to identify potential supply and demand imbalances and trigger programmed measures intended to prevent excessive market volatility and disruptions.
The system is designed as an alternative to conventional stabilisation mechanisms that rely on capital reserves, buffer funds or external intervention. It incorporates distributed ledger technology and cryptographic mechanisms to enhance transparency, trust and operational resilience in digital asset and commodity markets.
IsDBI said it has continued to develop and test the system since filing the patent application, with the aim of expanding its practical applications and exploring future opportunities for commercialisation.
The Institute said the patent grant strengthens its work on technology-based solutions to economic and development challenges.
Commenting on the patent, IsDBI Acting Director General Dr Sami Al-Suwailem said the grant “further strengthens the Institute’s position” in developing knowledge-based solutions that use modern technologies to address complex development challenges.
He said the achievement reflected the Institute’s efforts to translate research into practical solutions that could contribute to economic resilience and sustainable development.
