KAMPALA, September 18 2026 — Two major cooperative organisations in Uganda are preparing to convene separate conferences in Kampala this September, bringing together cooperators and other stakeholders from across the country.
The Uganda Cooperative Alliance [UCA] expects to host hundreds of participants at the 11th National Cooperative Conference in Kampala on September 22, 2026.
The conference will be held under the theme: “Showcasing Cooperative Achievements, Sustainable Industrialisation for Inclusive Growth, Employment and Wealth Creation.”
Participants will have an opportunity to exhibit and market their products and services during the conference.
“We invite all cooperatives across Uganda to exhibit and market their products and services during the National Cooperative Conference,” UCA said.
UCA General Secretary and Vice President of the International Cooperative Agricultural Organisation [ICAO], Ivan Asiimwe, and UCA Advocacy Manager Wilson Nyabutundu are among the speakers lined up for the event.
The conference will be held at the Makerere University Business School [MUBS] grounds in Nakawa, Kampala.
Meanwhile, following its first-ever SACCO Leadership Summit in July, the Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union Limited [UCSCU], the apex body for Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations [SACCOs] in the country, will convene the 11th Annual National SACCO Conference on September 24, 2026.
The conference will be held at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugolobi, Kampala.
For the past 11 years, the Annual National SACCO Conference has provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, collaboration, innovation and policy dialogue among stakeholders in Uganda’s financial cooperative sector.
This year’s conference is expected to bring together SACCO leaders, board members, managers, regulators, development partners, technology providers and other key stakeholders to deliberate on emerging issues and opportunities shaping the future of SACCOs and the wider financial cooperative sector.
Participants from member SACCOs will pay Shs 200,000, while those from non-member SACCOs will pay Shs 250,000.
