Uganda Strengthens Sixth Position In Latest World Netball Rankings

Meanwhile, seven teams have dropped out of the rankings after failing to meet the requirement of playing at least eight international matches since March 1, 2023

KAMPALA, March 7, 2026 — Uganda has strengthened its sixth-place position in the latest World Netball [WN] World Rankings, according to the newest update released on Thursday.

The rankings incorporate matches played between December 1, 2025 and March 1, 2026 and include the annual adjustment aimed at ensuring the standings reflect the most recent performance of international teams.

As part of the update, matches played during the rating period from February 28, 2022 to 28 February 2023 have been removed from the calculations. In addition, the weighting of matches played between March 1, 2023 and February 28, 2025 has been reduced by half.

Among the leading teams, the first notable change is at third place, where England national netball team has overtaken Jamaica national netball team after increasing its rating by two points to 186 following recent international series results and the annual update.

Within the top 10, Uganda national netball team [She Cranes] consolidated its position, with its rating now 14 points higher than that of Wales national netball team, which sits in seventh place. Tonga national netball team has also climbed to eighth after improving its rating by two points to 119, pushing Malawi national netball team down to ninth with a rating of 112.

The biggest rise in the rankings was recorded by Gibraltar national netball team, hosts of the Netball World Youth Cup 2025, who moved up six places to 20th with a rating of 63. Canada national netball team and Hong Kong national netball team also made significant progress, each climbing five places to 25th and 34th respectively.

Meanwhile, seven teams have dropped out of the rankings after failing to meet the requirement of playing at least eight international matches since March 1, 2023. Cook Islands national netball team and Maldives national netball team need to play one more match within the next 12 months to regain their ranking status. India national netball team and United States national netball team require two matches, while Israel national netball team and Chinese Taipei national netball team need three. Tanzania national netball team must play four matches to return to the rankings.
