Uganda exports finished coffee products to Somalia

KAMPAALA, October 8, 2025 --- In a landmark move, Inspire Africa Group has officially exported Uganda’s first consignment of finished coffee products to Somalia, marking a new era for value addition and intra-African trade.
The flag-off ceremony at Mestil Hotel in Kampala was presided over by John Mulimba, Minister of State for Regional Cooperation, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This milestone highlights Uganda’s commitment to regional integration, industrial growth, and showcasing premium Ugandan coffee across the continent.
In his remarks during the UG-Somalia Business Summit, the Inspire Africa MD Nelson Tugume highlighted the goal of boosting Uganda’s coffee revenue to US$ 5 billion in the next 5 years through quality value addition.
