TZ: Ministry of Agriculture to engage MoCU graduates in BBT projects

DODOMA, December 16, 2025 — The Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Stephen Nindi, has urged graduates of Moshi Co-operative University [ MoCU ] in Tanzania to make effective use of the knowledge and skills they have acquired to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and the national economy through the youth programme Building a Better Tomorrow [BBT].

Nindi made the remarks recently at MoCU’s 11th Graduation Ceremony in which he presided over the presentation of awards and prizes to graduates who excelled at various levels in academics, sports and leadership during the 2025 academic year.

While presenting the awards as Guest of Honour, Nindi emphasised the importance of graduates applying their knowledge in practice by working collaboratively with professionals in different production sectors, particularly agriculture, in order to enhance efficiency, innovation and productivity in the areas they will serve.

Nindi also pledged to strengthen cooperation with MoCU, including the introduction of jointly sponsored special awards for various winners. This initiative aims to support the University’s efforts to promote healthy competition and excellence in academics, leadership and innovation among students.

Such collaboration, he said will provide greater opportunities for more graduates to participate directly in development projects, including the BBT programme, thereby helping to produce young professionals who will drive transformation in the country’s agricultural sector.
