Tooro king dead
KAMPALA, August 27, 2026 –King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the Omukama of Tooro Kingdom, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m. at the age of 34.
His passing was formally announced by the kingdom’s Prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki.
Oyo died in the United States where he had gone to receive treatment for cancer.
Oyo ascended to the throne on September 12, 1995, at the age of three. He succeeded his father, Omukama Patrick David Matthew Kaboyo Olimi III, who passed away on August 26, 1995.
