TCDC builds capacity of staff to enhance efficiency
DODOMA, January 7, 2025 — The Commissioner and Chief Executive of the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission [TCDC], Dr. Benson Ndiege, has reiterated the Commission’s commitment to enhancing the capacity of its employees to improve performance and the implementation of their duties, with the aim of strengthening the cooperative sector.
Dr. Ndiege made these remarks during a recent meeting with all TCDC employees at the headquarters and regional offices, held in Dodoma.
He noted that TCDC holds annual meetings for all its staff to discuss opportunities and explore effective solutions to the challenges they face in their work.
“The Commission has established a procedure for sending employees on both long- and short-term training programmes at various educational levels, as well as allocating funds and developing a training plan for our staff,” he explained.
Ndiege urged employees to seize these opportunities to further their professional development, acquire new knowledge, and contribute to building a stronger organisation.
“I encourage employees to take full advantage of these opportunities for professional growth in order to gain valuable knowledge that will help strengthen the Association,” he stressed.
In addition, he highlighted the importance of functional IT systems, such as the Performance Measurement System [e-Performance], which helps evaluate staff performance and the overall performance of the institution. This system enables the Commission to assess its current status and determine the most effective ways to manage and deliver superior cooperative services.
Agnes Hugo, Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Ministry of Agriculture commended TCDC for its dedication to staff development and welfare. She praised the Commission for considering factors that improve motivation and morale among employees.
Meanwhile, TCDC employees expressed their gratitude for the organisation’s ongoing efforts to enhance the work environment and address key issues, including capacity-building training, sports activities, structural improvements, and social welfare matters.
