SOROTI, July 15, 2024 – Soroti district has a new Chief Administrative Officer [ CAO ] who pledged full commitment to serving the people, and government.
Elly Piwang replaces Andrew James Ocen who has been transferred to Adjumani after spending just one year in Soroti district CAO.
Piwang during his speech thanked the outgoing CAO for steering Soroti district and appealed to both politicians and technical staff to to always work as a team in the implementation of government programmes.
He noted he would join the team to deliver services to the people. “I am here to join the team and deliver the services to the people of Soroti district,” he said.
He said he would contribute in finding solutions to some challenges the district faces as cited in the hand over report.
On his part, Ocen, the outgoing CAO urged the politicians and technical staff in Soroti district to support the incoming CAO just as they supported him, saying this would lead to development of the district.
The district LCV Chairperson, Simon Peter Edoru appreciated the former CAO for serving the locals with transparency and honesty.
He therefore appealed to the new CAO to embrace teamwork and transparency so that the residents of Soroti can be able to benefit from the various government programmes such as the Parish Development Programme [PDM], Emyooga, Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme [UWEP], among others.
