MBARARA CITY, March 25, 2026 — Nyakayojo SACCO Limited has unveiled a new corporate logo, signalling a renewed push towards growth, innovation and financial inclusion in Western Uganda.
The rebranding was announced during the SACCO’s Annual General Meeting [AGM] held recently at its headquarters in Nyakayojo Division, Mbarara City, bringing together delegates, partners and community stakeholders.
SACCO leaders said the new identity reflects a broader strategy to modernise the institution, strengthen its market presence and position it for long-term sustainability in an increasingly competitive financial sector.
Focus on transparency and performance
Board Chairperson Aligawesa Yakub said the SACCO’s steady growth is anchored in strong governance and effective management.
“Our success is rooted in the Board’s commitment to transparency and accountability, alongside a competent management team delivering services across all our seven branches,” he said.
Yakub described the new logo as forward-looking, noting that it represents innovation and inclusivity, in line with the SACCO’s mission to empower communities and expand access to financial services.
Regulator urges professionalism
The Registrar of Cooperative Development in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives [MTIC], Bariyo Robert Barigye, commended the SACCO’s progress, while cautioning that many cooperatives fail to achieve sustainability despite being established across the country.
“Nyakayojo SACCO is doing commendable work. I urge the board and management to maintain high levels of professionalism and integrity to sustain this growth,” he said.
Barigye also called on the community to support the SACCO in order to strengthen its impact and outreach.
Industry calls for innovation
The Executive Director of the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda [AMFIU], Jacqueline Mbabazi, who attended the AGM as Guest of Honour, praised the SACCO’s rebranding efforts, describing a strong corporate identity as critical for competitiveness.
She urged the institution founded in 2001 to prioritise technology and storytelling to drive its next phase of growth.
Mbabazi highlighted the need for data-driven systems to attract international partners, as well as documenting beneficiary success stories to demonstrate the SACCO’s impact on livelihoods.
Positioned for next phase
The AGM underscored the SACCO’s member-driven approach, with leaders reiterating their commitment to inclusive growth under the motto, “United for Development”.
It was reported membership of the SACCO has steadily increased from 7,714 in 2022 to 16,345 in 2025. This growth not only indicates increased trust in the SACCO but also reflects successful member mobilisation strategies.
The Secretary Board of Directors, Kenneth Murangira highlighted the SACCO’s good performance in 2025, attributing it to staff and the board members.
“Our good performance is attributed to resilient team of staff and BoD, enabling us to achieve our set annual targets not forgetting member royalty and trust,” said Murangira.
With a new corporate identity and backing from regulators and industry stakeholders, Nyakayojo SACCO said it is now better positioned to expand its footprint and strengthen its role in promoting financial inclusion across Western Uganda.
