Lira City company wins best honey award
LIRA– Wimrob Bees Company Limited, located in Lira City, and a producer and exporter of pure refined organic honey, has won the 2022 People`s Choice Award for natural bee honey brand in Uganda.
The company attained the milestone after a recent survey conducted by Muyz Plus International [MPI], an advertising company based in Kampala.
The survey was conducted in five regions in the country with its process involving stakeholders in the consumer regulatory bodies.
The bodies include; Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Insurance Regulatory Authority, Bank of Uganda, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Dairy Development Authority, and National Drug Authority among others.
The four regions according to George Muyimbwa, the Chief Operating Officer, MPI include northern, eastern, western, and Kampala.
A total of 24 natural bee honey companies, Wimrob, Honey pride, Malaika Honey, Obini, Delta Bees, Bees Natural, Hanico, Afrishea, Eden Pure Honey, Original Honey, Golden Bees, Mi Honey, Hoima Natural, Kitgum Honey, and Bee Frenzy participated in the process.
Others include Rwenzori Honey, African Queen, Yellow Star, Savannah Chunk, Honeynyx, Fafac Honey, Honey drop, and Trial es Honey.
Muyimbwa said in a message to the Chief executive officer of Wimrob, Robert Okodia said there would be an award dinner on October 14, 2022, at Kampala Serena Hotel. The Vice President, Jesca Alupo Epel is expected to grace the ceremony.
Muyimbwa commended the company for offering outstanding and excellent services in the natural bee honey brand.
He said MPI conducted the assessment with unbiased opinion, perceptions, and service expectations for each individual market.
“This is a true testimony of hard work and outstanding services you have continued to provide over the past years and you are part of a much-selected group of businesses,” he said.
Okodia said the award and recognition have motivated the company staff and that they will do more to develop their brand.
