KUMI – Kumi District Local Government has disbursed Parish Development Model [PDM] funds to beneficiaries in six sub-counties.

During the launch of the disbursement of the funds in Ongino and Kanapa sub-counties today, the Kumi resident district commissioner, Ahmed Washaki, assured the residents that the National Resistance Movement [NRM] would fulfill its manifesto presented to the people of the district and Uganda at large.

“In Kumi district, PDM, is no longer stories but a reality as beneficiaries continue to receive money on a daily basis. I want to take this opportunity to thank the CAO and the technical staff for beating all odds and coming on top of the game,” Washaki said.

He said after the district launch in February, Subcounty staffs have continued processing payments.

According to him so far Atutur, Mukongoro, Kanyum, Ongino, Kanapa have received the funds.

“I invite other districts to come and link up with our staff who have become consultants in PDM processes. While officiating today’s disbursement for Ongino and Kanapa sub-counties, the community were so grateful to President Museveni for fulfilling the NRM Manifesto 2021-2026,” he said.

He said that the district will continue disbursing funds to ready PDM SACCOs and those that are not ready will get funds once the Ministry of Local Government clears them.

Washaki who is also the chief monitor of government programmes in the district, urged leaders to get involved in PDM and mobilise the population to embrace the programme.

According to government, PDM will improve the quality of life for the beneficiaries and increase their household income.
