Kenyan elected new ICA-Africa Vice President

NEW DELHI, January 10, 2025Representatives at the International Cooperative Alliance [ICA-Africa] recently elected Macloud Malonza as the new Vice President of the ICA-Africa Board. Malonza was unanimously elected during the ICA-Africa 17th Regional Assembly Meeting held in New Delhi, India.

Mr. Malonza currently serves as the Chairman of the Co-operative Alliance of Kenya [CAK], the umbrella body representing Kenya’s cooperative movement which comprises over 22,000 cooperative societies and unions with more than 15 million members.

As a veteran of the Cooperative Movement, he has held numerous leadership roles including serving as Vice Chairman of the CAK Board, and continues to hold the position of Chairman at both Harambee Sacco Society Limited — one of Africa’s largest and most successful savings and credit cooperatives — and the Coop Holdings Cooperative Society Limited, the majority shareholder and strategic investor in the Cooperative Bank of Kenya.
