NEW DELHI– India’s top-ranking dairy brands Amul, marketed by Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd and Nandini, marketed by Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd) are named as main sponsors of International Dairy Federation’s World Dairy Summit 2022 [IDF WDS 2022], powered by Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd [MDFVPL], a wholly-owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board [NDDB], according to a press release.
IDF is the leading source of scientific and technical expertise for all stakeholders of the dairy chain. Since 1903, IDF’s network of dairy experts has provided a mechanism for the dairy sector to reach global consensus on how to help feed the world with safe and sustainable dairy products.
Under the theme Dairy for Nutrition and Livelihood, the most coveted event of the dairy sector will be organised in New Delhi-NCR during September 12-15, 2022. Dairy industry stakeholders from over 40 countries would participate and work towards ways to further develop dairy industry. The event will be held in India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR.
Meenesh Shah, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board [NDDB] and the Member Secretary of Indian National Committee of IDF said, “It is a great honour for India to host the World Dairy Summit after 48 years. We are eagerly looking forward to welcome all stakeholders to visit India and make the IDF WDS 2022 truly a global event.”
Shah said that dairying provides livelihood and economic resilience to millions of people across the world through large dairy farms as well as smallholder systems. The fullest support of dairy giants Amul, Nandini and Mother Dairy would definitely help showcase smallholder dairy model of India as an engine of development.
IDF WDS 2022 will provide a forum to industry experts to share knowledge and ideas on how the sector can contribute to nourish the world with safe and sustainable dairying. A collaborative approach is also required to mitigate challenges with respect to climate change. The interventions so planned have to be both remunerative to the farmer and easy to adopt. Participants will get an opportunity to acquire knowledge on latest research findings and experiences relevant to the global dairy sector in the broadest sense.
The IDF World Dairy Summit is an annual meeting of the global dairy sector, bringing together approximately 1500 participants from all over the world. The participant profile includes CEOs and employees of dairy processing companies, dairy farmers, suppliers to the dairy industry, academicians, government representatives, among others.
The summit is composed of a series of scientific and technical conferences and social events including a Welcome Reception, Farmers’ Dinner, Gala Dinner as well as Technical and Social Tours. The Summit is also receiving support from dairy organisations like Indian Immunological Ltd, IDMC Ltd, Nestle, Prompt Equipment Pvt Ltd, Everest Instruments Pvt Ltd and others.
