LONDON, April 4, 2025 — Co-op Legal Services’ growth performance continued in 2024, seeing revenue up 24 percent to £84 million and increased underlying operating profit at £27 million.

Additionally, probate sales were up 2.2 percent, despite decrease in death rate of 2.8 percent.

The member-owned organisation achieved strong volume growth in 2024, with revenue up almost a quarter to £84 million and increased underlying operating profit at £27 million.
Co-op Legal Services’ estate planning arm had a particularly strong year, with a 29 percent increase in the number of case openings. Furthermore, probate sales were up 2.2 percent despite a decrease in death rate of 2.8 percent.
In 2024, Co-op Legal Services made significant strides in expansion by forming successful partnerships with a range of organisations, from financial services businesses to charities. This allowed the business to broaden its reach and make its expert services more accessible to a greater number of member-owners and clients.
Digital expansion remained a primary focus for the business in 2024, as Co-op Legal Services introduced new technology, with successful investment in AI for probate cases, enabling clients’ cases to be resolved more quickly. Further investment in this technology has enabled the business to significantly improve its core operations and achieve further scale.
Another key enabler of Co-op Legal Services success is its colleagues – by combining the qualities of empathy and expertise, they continue to deliver high standards of service daily for clients. As an accessible employer, Co-op Legal Services recognises the value of apprenticeships and in February 2024, the business launched five new Level 7 solicitor apprenticeships for students wishing to pursue an alternative route into the legal field, which could save them thousands in university tuition fees.
