Bugisu religious leaders applaud MP Nandala Mafabi for good leadership

MBALE-Religious leaders in Bugisu Sub-region have lauded the leadership of Budadiri West Member of Parliament Nathan Nandala Mafabi, saying he has the qualities of a good leader and has ably spoken out on issues that affect Ugandans.

The religious leaders made the remarks Thursday at a meeting organised by Nandala Foundation, a charity that the MP established to help the vulnerable in the sub-region.

The religious leaders were meeting Nandala at Mountain Inn, Malukhu, in Mbale City

Bishop of Mbale Diocese John Wilson Nandah said Nandala’s impact in Bugisu and Uganda at large in political, social, and economic spheres cannot be underestimated.

Retired Bishop of Mbale Diocese and Chairperson of Nandala Foundation, Samuel Wabulakha said under  Nandala’s leadership Bugisu Cooperative Union [BCU], coffee prices in the sub-region have gone up, with farmers who supply the union with green beans are now paid instantly. “This is an achievement that must be celebrated,” Wabulakha said.

Bugisu Regional Kadhi Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Wandega applauded the MP for continuously engaging religious leaders on issues that affect the Bamasaba.

Wandega said religious leaders play an important role in changing the spiritual, social, and economic mindset of the people that they lead.

In response, Nandala pledged to continue engaging the religious leaders on issues aimed at developing the Bamasaba.
