Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) ready for Wednesday 28th November 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM). This follows the resolution reached upon between the Bugisu Cooperative Union Limited led by Nathan Nandala Mafabi and Budidi Growers Cooperative Society led by Julius Nakiyi through mediation under the Directive of Justice Lydia Mugambe of Civil Division High court Kampala.
The lady justice earlier issued the court order to block the BCU AGM on 15th November 2018 following a petition filed by Budidi Growers Cooperative Society accusing the Nandala led board for setting up irregular rules concerning the union elections.
On Thursday 22nd November 2018 justice Mugambe referred the matter to arbitration and it was resolved that elections be held this Wednesday 28th November 2018 starting at 10 am at the BCU coffee factory. They also agreed that each party takes responsibility for their costs incurred in court and other related matters.
Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi the Incumbent Chairman of Bugisu Cooperative union revealed that despite the loss of 500m in the previous AGM preparation that was postponed, the union is ready to hold the Annual General Meeting this Wednesday 28th November 2018.
He added that he is also ready to contest for another two years term but Julius Nakiyi when contacted he was not clear if he will contest for BCU Chairmanship come Wednesday as he said that his interest is not merely the fourth coming election but he is fighting the protracted war to relief Bagisu Coffee Farmers.
