Kampala, Uganda: The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives have released a tentative burial arrangement for fallen Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Julius B. Onen.
Onen passed away on Sunday from Paragon Hospital where he was admitted. He died aged 60 years.
According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Internal Memo signed by the Human Resource Unit, there is a vigil at Amb. Julius B. Onen’s home in Bugolobi. On Thursday, March 14, 2019, there will be a requiem Mass at Our Lady Of Africa Church in Mbuya starting at 10 am. The body will then be transported to Dima Village in Kiryadongo district where burial will take place on Saturday 16th March 2019.
Julius Onen was born on September 4, 1948, to late Yakobo Oboo and Maria Acanda Oboo at Aber Mission Hospital in the then Lango District.
He went to Lacor Primary School where he completed his primary. He then joined St Joseph’s Boys’ Junior School in Gulu District, before completing his Ordinary level at St Peter’s College Tororo.
He studied for Advanced Level at St Mary’s College Kisubi in Kampala then Makerere University Law School from where he graduated with honors degree in 1973.
At his passing Onen was also serving as a board member of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA)
