2026 Presidential race: Museveni officially nominated ahead of rivals

President Yoweri Museveni has been officially nominated by the Electoral Commission to run for President of Uganda on the NRM party ticket in the 2026 Presidential election. He thanked party members for their trust and promised to deliver on the party's promises, including transforming Uganda into a middle-income economy.
