KAMPALA, January 29, 2026 — The Uganda National Examinations Board [UNEB] has announced that the 2025 Primary Leaving Examination [ PLE ] results will be released this Friday, marking a key moment for thousands of candidates, parents, and schools across the country.
The results will be released by the Minister of Education and Sports Janet Kataaha Museveni at State Lodge, Nakasero.
UNEB officials say preparations are complete for the release, which will provide insight into learners’ performance and inform placement into secondary schools.
A total of 817,885 candidates registered for the 2025 PLE, which took place in November 2025. This was a 2.5 percent increase in total registration when compared to 797,444 candidates who registered in 2024.
The release is expected to draw nationwide attention as families await the outcome of the first major national examinations under the current education cycle.
