11th TCAMCCO slated for May in Morocco

KAMPALA, April 5, 2025 — The International Cooperative Alliance-Africa [ICA- Africa], in partnership with its Moroccan members and the Office du Développement de la Coopération [ODCO], are calling for papers for the 11th edition of the Technical Committee of the Africa Ministerial Cooperative Conference [ TCAMCCO , scheduled to take place from May 20-22, 2025, in Essaouira, Morocco.

The TCAMCCO 2025 conference will be a pivotal event focused on enhancing the visibility of cooperatives across Africa, in alignment with the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives. This year’s theme, “Cooperative Visibility for a Better Africa”, will highlight the role of cooperatives in driving sustainable development and fostering economic growth across the continent.

The conference will provide a platform for sharing evidence-based research, policy-driven strategies, and successful cooperative case studies that will shape the future of Africa’s cooperative sector.

According to the organisers, TCAMCCO 2025 aims to bring together government officials, cooperative leaders, and stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches and strategies for increasing the visibility and impact of cooperatives at national, regional, and global levels. Additionally, the conference seeks to celebrate the progress made in cooperative development across Africa while encouraging collaborative partnerships to drive future growth.

Paper submission details

Authors interested to submit their papers are required to do so by April 17, 2025, via email to pm@icaafrica.coop (with a copy to info@icaafrica.coop and melvin@icaafrica.coop), using the subject line: “ICA-Africa TCAMCCO Paper Submission.”

“Submissions should address the theme of the conference and offer actionable strategies, innovative recommendations, and solutions to enhance cooperative visibility. Special consideration will be given to policy-focused and solution-oriented papers. The organising committee encourages young researchers, academics, and practitioners to contribute their insights,” a statement says.

Review process

All submitted papers will undergo a blind peer review process. The papers will also be checked for plagiarism. Only those meeting the accepted standards will be selected for presentation at the conference.

Conference sponsorship and fees

Authors whose papers are accepted for presentation will be exempt from conference fees. However, participants will be responsible for covering their own travel, accommodation, and daily subsistence costs. In the case of joint papers, only one author per paper will be required to attend and present on behalf of the team.

Final presentation

Accepted speakers will be required to submit a PowerPoint presentation for their session at the conference.
